MAINTENANCE ROUTINE:
CLEANING THE EXTERIOR OF THE GRILL: Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner works great on the exterior of the grill. It also hydrates and protects the plastic knobs. Using the grill cover will make life easiest. If the grill cover is left off and the grill is covered in pollen -which will happen every day- because trees and flowers make pollen all year long. Yes - even in winter. If the pollen is not cleaned off before the grill is heated it will bake on to the surface and require a ridiculous amount of scrubbing to get it off. I know this because I made this mistake with our first grill. Seriously - use the grill cover it will save hours of cleaning.
CLEANING THE GRILL: Turn the grill on high to burn off old food. This grill has a porcelain coated cast iron grill grate which should be gently cleaned with a BRASS GRILL BRUSH. Stainless steel grill brushes will scratch the porcelain coating causing food to stick - the porcelain will chip off and the grates to rust. This is our second version of the same grill and life lessons learned the hard way...
DUMPING THE GREASE TRAP: Under the grill in the cabinet is a grease catch. Grease burns so cleaning out excess build up is important for everyones safety. When replacing the trap after cleaning take extra care to be sure it properly aligned in in place. If the alignment is off the grease drips down all over the interior of the cabinet. We did this once - took me hours to clean it up - just something that is easy to avoid if you know about it.
CLEANING THE INSERTS: Pizza Stone and Grill Grates are hand wash only items. The dishwasher gets to hot and will crack these items. The Vegetable Tray and Wok can go into the dishwasher.
CLEANING THE WINDOW: The grill is located under an overhang by the large living room picture window. The grill is a safe distance from the window and should be no closer than it is currently placed or in cold weather the heat could crack the glass.

PLUMBED NATURAL GAS FIREPLACE
IGNITION PROTOCAL:
- REMOVE LID BEFORE LIGHTING CHIMENEA
- Light Long Wood Match
- Sit in Arm Chair & Reach Back to Turn Gas Knob
- Overheating Chimenea by Leaving Lid On or Turning Up Too High Will Damage Art Finish
MAINTENANCE ROUTINE:
The Chimenea is made of cast iron and custom painted with high heat fireplace enamel to inhibit rust. It is important for function to take the lid off when the fireplace is lit. It is equally important to leave the lid on when it is not in use to prevent moisture from entering the inside - which is raw cast iron. The chimenea cover is used all winter long and during spring. Leaving the chimenea uncovered for summer and fall is usually fine unless there is a long spell of unusually wet weather.

MAINTINACE ROUTINE:
All of these pieces are stored in the garage for the winter and the umbrella, table, & chimenea are covered after Halloween. At this time of the year the drip irrigation system is turned off and blown out. The fountains around the home and in the zen garden are also winterized.
